1. General

SIA “Burgers 66” (hereinafter – the Controller) processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) No. 2016/679 (hereinafter – the Regulation), as well as the laws of the Republic of Latvia. This Privacy Policy explains how the personal data of clients, employees, and website visitors are processed, and the procedure for exercising the rights of data subjects.

2. Purposes of personal data processing

The Controller processes personal data for the following purposes:

• Human resource management of employees;

• Accounting and fulfillment of tax obligations;

• Customer service and execution of transactions;

• Communication with customers;

• Handling of claims and complaints;

• Sending of newsletters and marketing information, if consent is given;

• Website maintenance and security;

• Video surveillance in company premises for security purposes.

3. Legal basis for personal data processing

• Fulfillment of legal obligations;

4. Website user data

4.1. Comments

When visitors leave comments on the website, the data visible in the comment form is collected, along with the IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam. If the Gravatar service is used, an anonymized hash of the email may be sent according to the Gravatar privacy policy: https://automattic.com/privacy/.

4.2. Media

When uploading images, users are advised to avoid uploading images with embedded GPS location data. Visitors can download and extract location data from images.

4.3. Cookies

When submitting comments, user data may be saved in cookies for a period of 1 year.
Login cookies are set for 2 days (or 2 weeks if “Remember me” is selected).
If editing a post, an additional cookie will be stored for 1 day.

4.4. Embedded content

Articles on the site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, etc.), which behaves in the same way as if the visitor had visited the third-party website. Such content may collect user data in accordance with third-party policies.

5. Data retention periods

• Employee data: up to 75 years (in accordance with Latvian legislation)

• Recruitment data: 3 months after the recruitment ends

• Client and partner data: 10 years after cooperation ends

• Accounting data: 5 years

• Video surveillance recordings: up to 30 days

• Website comment data: stored indefinitely

• User account data (if any): until the account is deleted

6. Data sharing

Data are shared only in accordance with legal requirements, if necessary, with public authorities, partners, and service providers who assist the Controller in providing services.

If a password reset is requested, the user’s IP address may be included in the reset email.

7. Rights of the data subject

Data subjects have the following rights:

• Request access to their personal data;

• Request correction or deletion of data;

• Request restriction of processing;

• Object to data processing;

• Request data portability;

• File a complaint with the supervisory authority (Data State Inspectorate).

The Controller ensures appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect personal data from unauthorized access, loss, destruction, or disclosure.

Comments may be checked through automated spam detection services.
